Some comments

It’s great to get positive comments at the Regal. Here are just a few.

“Friendly …” “Fun place for kids.” ‘Engaging” ‘Practical messages.” “Positive, upbeat experience …” “A unique kind of church.” “Encouraging message.” “Spiritual atmosphere.” “Great to have free lattes!”

Love wins.

The phrase - God loves you - is thrown around a lot. Has it become just another plastic, buzz phrase that’s out there and used by religious people? What does it really mean to love. In one sense, as followers of Christ, we’re all learning how to love people -not because we want everyone to be the same and not because we want something from them. But, as Christians, living life to the full is to experience all that God has for us including learning to love people who may not see things the we do or who may even not like us for one reason or another.

For example, what about loving people with different beliefs, with a different view of God, with a different view of the world, with a different view of how to live life to the full - even? Doesn’t God want us to love everyone? Jesus said, By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. (The Gospel of John 13:35) After doing that, where do we go from there?

Reflecting

June 01, 2007 (posted by Dan)

It’s been incredible reflecting back at where God has taken us as a church. Here’s a rehash of the original dream that a few had about starting a new church …

What if church could …

… be more than just a place to go to on Sundays?
… create environments where people experience a meaningful spiritual life with God?
… build lasting friendships with people in the community?
… be loving and accepting of everyone?
… be more guest-friendly for new people?
… be a place where people would feel comfortable openly exploring questions and
doubts about God, faith and Christianity?
… be more focused on serving the community and its needs?
… empower people to live out their unique God-given purpose for life and serving?
… encourage creativity and open expression?

With God’s help, the dream will continue.
