Narnia: Journey Back to Faith - Part 2 (Engaged in Battle)

May 10, 2008 (posted by Dan)

The movie, The Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian, is all about a battle between good and evil. Prince Caspian and the Pevensie children were engaged in a battle with the evil King Miraz. As they trusted in Aslan, the Christ-like lion character, to help them win, they won the day.

Jesus has called all of us to a similar journey of faith. And, whether we like it not – we’re involved in some battles too. The battles we face are far more dangerous though. They’re spiritual battles for our very being – our very soul.

Ephesians 6 [10] Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. [11] Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. [12] For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

But, here’s the thing – with Christ in us, with Christ as the Leader of our lives, we already know the outcome. The victory is ours. We’ve won already.

1 John 4 [3] … This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. [4] You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

What keeps from embracing spiritual break-in moments?

The Bible mentions that the “god of this world” (i.e., Satan) has blinded the minds of people in general (2 Corinthians 4:4). The passage also mentions that the one thing that he doesn’t want people to see is the true reality of Christ’s glory. If people really understood who Jesus is and what he did for them, the blinders would come off.

Don’t miss the next spiritual break-in moment for you. When it happens to you, when you sense that God is trying to break into your life, stop and say — “Here I am God … what do you want me to do?” Ask God to remove any spiritual blinders that you may have so you can experience all that He wants for you in this life.
