QUESTIONS SERIES on Inflow~Outflow
What a great time this past Sunday at our Regal Theater service – to just open things up for whatever questions you may have about spiritual things … especially when we “walk across the room” to connect with someone who may need Christ.
Here is the list of your questions that I will be blogging on in the upcoming days and weeks (I left them just as they were written down on the 3×5 cards we gave you during the service):
1. What happens to non-Christians when they die?
2. How can someone who claims to be a Christian or a leader in the church knowingly do wrong while telling you just the opposite.
3. Why is the Bible an authority on God’s Word?
4. If you pray to be saved but fall away from the church, are you still saved?
5. If it’s all God’s will, do we have any control over our lives?
6. What is the most important thing for a new believer to do?
7. What do you say to someone who has lost a loved one – who has lost a loved one who is a non-believer?
8. Why does God allow suffering?
9. If it’s all God’s will, why do wars, crime, illness, etc. happen?
10. How do we know if a thought is coming from ourself or God?
11. If you’re doing the same sin again and again – and you know that it’s sin but still do it, the Bible says there is no sacrifice for it anymore. So it sounds like no hope to be
forgiven. Sometimes you just don’t have strength to resist, you don’t want to do this sin, but you do and will continue to do it. So where is the exit?
12. Someone once asked me, “What’s up with all of the contradictions in the Bible?” To this say, I don’t have an answer.
13. Personally, I believe in “earthbound spirits”! I have had too many experiences (and so have friends and family) not to believe. The Bible contradicts that belif. I don’t think they’re all bad either.
14. Why wouldn’t God stop a very “bad” person from {causing} horrible “pain” (e.g., rape, murder, etc.) to someone else before it happens (e.g., {cause} the knife, gun, etc. to just drop from his hand) so that the loved ones left to deal with the devastation that the “act” caused wouldn’t have to go that route? We can connect with God without the muck and mire – especially when your life will change forever.
15. How do you start to share the gospel with a person who seems uninterested?
16. Can you lose your salvation – some way?
17. And how do you know if you were born again (i.e., born from above) or not?
18. There are so many factions or “versions” of Christian churches. How do we know which ones are reliable, good and true to God’s Word?
19. Why would God let me struggle?
20. What about those who have never heard the gospel?
21. How can I trust that the Bible is true and reliable?
22. There are so many religions out there so why is yours so special?
23. I prefer not to choose any religion. What makes yours so different and/or special?
24. Why doesn’t God make His will more obvious?
25. If you say that there is a God who is good – why does evil triumph in the world? Why doesn’t this all-good and powerful God prevent this?
26. Did Jesus have brothers and sisters (family members)?
27. (From a young child) If some animals can kill you, then why did God make them?
