Outflow

Ouflow is passing on to others what God has done and is doing in our lives as Christians. Outflow also involves two things: 1) as we grasp God’s love for us deep in our own being, we soon cultivate desire to help others experience that same love that has changed us; and, 2) as that desire grows, God moves us to share the good news of Jesus Christ with people, to serve them and to care for them too.

Outflow won’t happen in a spiritually healthy way if it’s done out of duty (Gal 5:6). Doing things exclusively out of duty means that we’re performing for God’s love. Obeying God is a matter of the heart not of our performance or self-power. We share with others or serve them (i.e., outflow) out of love because God has changed our own lives from the inside out. That’s just a brief picture of outflow.
